Deputy Chair of Conservative Party rejects Freedom of Speech for UK people

The real Tory Agenda against our freedoms

Many of us believe that the people of this country must be at liberty to peacefully express what they want for their country, without being arrested.

Many of us believe that our forefathers fought bitter wars to preserve the right to have freedom of speech and opinion.

Sadly, this belief in public and personal freedom is ‘not’ shared by the Deputy chair of the Tory party, Lee Anderson.

This bizarre, rambling, and highly opinionated politician apparently thinks that anyone who disagrees with his limited worldview on royalty, equality and liberty should leave the country.

Anderson told anti-monarchy activists to “emigrate” rather than exercise their right to protest. He made the comments after dozens of peaceful protesters were arrested during King Charles’s coronation.

Sharing an article on the arrests on Twitter, the MP for Ashfield wrote:

“Not My King? “If you do not wish to live in a country that has a monarchy the solution is not to turn up with your silly boards. The solution is to emigrate.”

So, there we have it – if anyone dares to challenge the Tory version of reality, they will be given the choice of complying with the official narrative or leaving their own country.

Forgive me if I am wrong but is this not a perfect example of autocratic dictatorship?  Is Anderson’s raving bias herein (‘agree with us or get out of the country’) not just another form of arm-twisting totalitarianism?

Anderson was previously a coal miner who was a Labour councillor in Ashfield. He is reportedly being sued for libel after making remarks about a man who runs a food bank in his constituency.

The legal action against the controversial politician is being launched days after Rishi Sunak promoted Mr Anderson to deputy chair of the Tory party.

Lawyers acting for Michael Hollis, who runs a food bank charity, said he was "outraged" after the Ashfield MP made claims about money in "brown envelopes" changing hands in relation to a planning application.

These comments, made on 1 February amounted to "defamatory allegations of bribery", they said.

Tories do like to run off at the mouth at times. We have seen this on a local scale as well, many times. Here is one small example…

Previously  Anderson  has:

Dismissed reports that nurses, who have been taking strike action over pay, needed help with meals.

Told parliament a lot of people only use food banks because they “can’t cook a meal from scratch” and “cannot budget”.

Clashed with critics over whether food banks are essential, amongst the cost of living crisis.

Has defended his £220,000 expenses last year after he received criticism over his food bank comments.

Set up a fake doorstep interview with a mate to make himself look more popular.

He stated that “nuisance tenants” should be forced to live in tents and pick potatoes.

After his Spectator interview was published Anderson had an argument with a BBC reporter who tackled him about video and audio clips showing him setting up a doorstep encounter, during the 2019 election campaign.

Anderson forgot he was wearing a microphone while he deviously got one of his chums to pose as an anti-Labour swing voter, in a bid to impress a journalist with the pretend encounter.  Once they arrived, the supposed swing voter then told the Tory candidate: “There’s no way Labour are ever going to get my vote again”, before robustly backing Mr Anderson’s ‘tenants in tents’ strategy.

Who the hell does this Tory bully boy think he is to threaten the right of UK people to peacefully protest against things they see as inherently wrong and utterly undemocratic?

By Anderson's biased standards of chucking people out of the UK for failing to comply, would he have also told the following to emigrate?

Suffragettes fighting for votes for women.
Campaigners who wanted to abolish slavery
Protesters seeking to ban bear and badger baiting

Straight-talking Northern lad - oh really?

Strong and noble opinion with genuine intentions is one thing yet bowdlerising the freedoms of others and using deceptive methodology to manipulate voters amounts to small-minded bullying.

Naturally, such outspoken despotism will be seen as possibly nostalgic; a flat cap, no - nonsense, old school, delivery even, especially by those unaffected. However, sentimentality for a bygone age of 'straight talking' falls heavily to the ground when we recall the gross trickery and self-promotion behind Anderson's fake set up doorstep farce.

If anyone wants to swallow the 'rite old Northern lad' ruse then they should realise that REAL northern working lads would have booted out such a blatant, self-seeking, trickster when he was first exposed! Not the UK's Tory Party though - they seems to rewards such disgraceful antics with promotion.

Protest is essential as it can lead to real change. Only loud-mouthed despots wish to curtail our vital human rights! Consequently, we have overzealous police now stamping out peaceful protests before they even start. We also have leading political buffoons with ‘bar room’ opinions about our human rights, which they view as a disposable item!

No wonder our police are rushing about like Keystone Cops, with political masters such as this behind them.

If Anderson and his out of touch , similarly – minded, Tory colleagues truly value their freedom of expression/opinion/speech, then they must be prepared to extend the same liberty to others!
