Difficult decisions ahead for the public, says Jeremy Hunt - one of the wealthiest politicians in the UK.
Jeremy Hunt has been made the UK’s fourth chancellor in as many months, subsequent to the firing of Kwasi Kwarteng in the wake of his disastrous mini budget.
The Chancellor of the Exchequer is the government's chief financial minister who is responsible for raising revenue through taxation or borrowing and for controlling public spending.
Hunt served as Secretary of State for Health, later Health and Social Care, from 2012 to 2018.
As Health Secretary he was accused of ruining the NHS and financial mismanagement therein by many critics.
NHS rules stated that 95% of patients visiting A&E should be seen inside a maximum of 4 hours. When Hunt took office, the performance was just below that objective, 94.9%. Performance deteriorated progressively during Hunt’s stint and was only 84% by the time he left office, with the target having been missed each winter since 2013/4. That resulted in 3 times more patients waiting over 4 hours to be seen in A&E when Hunt left office than when he began his unpopular tenure.
I caught him with the camera at Southport Hospital some years back, when angry protestors arrived in force to vent their spleens.
And here he is leaving the Hospital.
Although Hunt is admittedly very good at raising cash to swell his own private coffers, he seemed to have some problems managing finances on a larger public scale.

Jeremy Hunt’s net worth is estimated to be around £14 million.
Once again, clueless PM Liz Truss, the undisputed Queen of U-turns, may have put yet another cat amongst the pigeons!
