The remains of 215 children were found buried in one school last month, prompting nationwide outrage. The government-run boarding schools were set up for the forced assimilation of indigenous children.
THEY WERE PART OF OFFICIAL POLICY, WHICH AIMED TO DESTROY INDIGENOUS CULTURES AND LANGUAGES.
The children whose bodies were found in May were pupils of the Kamloops Indian Residential School in British Columbia, which closed in 1978.

Addendum:
Trudeau blames the Catholic Church, yet we must remember too that they could not have achieved this level of rot this without the full support of the Canadian government. This is of course nothing but pure absolutism in action. All part of the 're-education' of Pagan First-Nation tribes.
It continues today with governments and the Church promoting each other, opening doors for each other, to follow the Christian fundamentalist lead. Why is Trudeau not apologising and sharing the blame with the Church instead of just scapegoating the whole sorry matter onto the Church as an easy mark? It's so simple to rewrite history - when one is in power!
It is an ongoing scandal the way that tribes in North America, Australia, Philippines, Africa, India, South America etc, stole children from their tribal families and colonialised them, re-educating them to become nice conforming Christian citizens. SAFF have been striving to throw light on all this for decades.
