The iconic WW2 aircraft was seen today flying briefly over Southport & Formby General Hospital
Above: a long range shot of the Spitfire in action today.
The Spitfire was covered with the names of 80,000 NHS staff, family members, neighbours and friends chosen by the public to identify the sacrifices and acts of kindness over previous months.
The aircraft took off earlier from Duxford Airfield near Cambridge before flying over several hospitals.
