Bible-bashing Labour MP, Fiona Santayana, found guilty of lying to police

Religion and politics - need I say more?

In 2017 A newly elected Christian Labour MP claimed that her victory in Peterborough was an answer to prayer. Fiona Onasanya who gained the seat from the Conservatives after a recount said: “God has shown me favour."

Speaking on what motivated her to run in the first place, she explained: “I believe to be a Christian is to be Christ-like – it’s to help people.

Christian MP - Weighed measured and found wanting

Nevertheless, this bible-bashing MP appears to have recently shown another side to her trusting constituents, after being found guilty of lying to police.

The MP was accused of colluding with her brother to avoid having three points added to her driver’s licence by claiming that a former lodger had been driving her Nissan car when it was found travelling at 41mph in a 30mph zone. Police however discovered that the former lodger was in Russia at the time of the offence.

I suppose we shall now see reams of text in the press about this MP asking for forgiveness with abundant apologies?

Same old thing, of course, time for the old confessional box etc and lots of knee-bending repentance.

A Labour Party spokesperson said: “The Labour Party is deeply disappointed in Fiona Onasanya’s behaviour. It falls well below what is expected of politicians. She should now resign. Fiona Onasanya is being administratively suspended from the Labour Party and therefore the whip with immediate effect.”
