Tree butchers arrive at Kew Woods in Southport

Old Southport’s green places are vanishing fast.

Mature Southport trees (healthy and of various species)  were recently destroyed in a chain saw blitz, at the old Victorian Kew Woods location.

This is bad news for resident bats, birds and local mammals that used the place as a mini eco-sanctuary. So-called 'legal protection' of species appears to mean nothing. It’s no wonder that wildlife is suffering ever-diminishing numbers across the UK.

Crimes against nature – the innocent ones, with no voice of protest, get hit the hardest ever time.

Addendum: Below - how it was before the tree butchers struck
