Old Southport’s green places are vanishing fast.
Mature Southport trees (healthy and of various species) were recently destroyed in a chain
saw blitz, at the old Victorian Kew Woods location.
This is bad news for resident bats, birds and local mammals
that used the place as a mini eco-sanctuary. So-called 'legal protection' of species appears to mean nothing. It’s no wonder that wildlife is
suffering ever-diminishing numbers across the UK.
Crimes against nature – the innocent ones, with no voice of protest, get hit the hardest ever
time.
