The Southport Flower Show was opened by celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott this morning (18 August).
Thousands of visitors attended the annual floral event at
the resort's Victoria Park. It's being promoted as the largest independent
flower show in the country.

There are always a few clowns about as well.
No show is complete without old Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
The weather was kind and everyone seemed to have an enjoyable day.
