New UK Independence Day arrives

Brexit: UK votes to leave EU in historic referendum

Britain says, OUT!
24 June 2016

It’s an historical day for Britain as it finally rejects over 40 years of unpopular European bureaucracy and red tape.

Leave won by 52% to 48% with England and Wales voting strongly for Brexit, while London, Scotland and Northern Ireland backed staying in the EU. UKIP leader Nigel Farage hailed it as the UK's "independence day" but the Remain camp called it a "catastrophe".
One young Englishman’s personal opinion (filmed yesterday) of the situation.

Strong opinions both ways across the land and finally we vote to leave the EU.
Cameron to stand down as leader after backing the wrong horse. He tells the country that he is not the captain to steer the UK’s ship.
Remain - supporting loser, David Cameron, states that he is quitting as Prime Minister in autumn following his historical defeat. The PM had urged the country to vote Remain but was defeated by 52% to 48% despite London, Scotland and Northern Ireland backing staying in. Can we expect to see similar forthcoming major-player resignations and leadership challenges in the Labour Party and Liberal Democrats?
Britain now needs strong leadership. Nevertheless, can we trust the politically engineering clutch of leadership-chasing Tories to put the country’s needs ‘before’ their own private political ambitions?
We undoubtedly have exciting times ahead yet must expect a period of uncertainty and adjustment.
How long will it be before someone suggests (whoops I just did) a new flag to mark 'Brexit'? Perhaps we need a competition for the design?
Historically, Britain has a fine heritage of fierce independence and the pioneer spirit. Today this was an aspect of the national psyche seen yet again.
Whatever your opinion and vote, Britain now needs to move forward in a positive spirit of united action for the benefit of all.
Happy UK Independence Day to everyone.
