2014 ELECTION VICTORY FOR THE WOODVALE COMMUNITY THAT WAS WELL-EARNED....
People Power in action
Cllr Haydn Preece, Ainsdale's Woodvale Woodland Project (WWP) - supportive and 'only' pro-active councillor has retained his Ainsdale Ward seat following a strong campaign by 5-times election loser, Dr Jamie Halsall.
THE 28 CLUB IS BORN!
We are reliably informed that it was just 28 votes between victory and defeat.
We are advised that our hard-working community crew played a "Major" part in making it victory, via helping with many election news deliveries in Ainsdale.
Therefore, we are now the one and only '28 CLUB' ...
Ainsdale Tory Councillors treated us with utter disrespect and disdain after we were forced to blow the whistle on local community activities headed by Cllr Ted hartill.
An official complaint from Cllr Preece to Woodvale and Ainsdale Community Association (WACA), which is chaired by Ted Hartill, is 'ongoing' and relates to the following items ...
* The use by volunteers of mechanical equipment and insurance cover.
* The felling of trees
* The implementation of fires
* Utilisation/disbursement and control of One Vision Housing Assn Funds
* Purchasing of equipment
* Supervision/duty of care/ during activities
* Inclusion/community engagement policy
* Following Charity Commission philosophy/rationale
* Social Media Policy
* Procedures to deal with management/grievance issues.
Local Tories, Cllr Jones and Cllr Hartill, also blocked our potential improvements for the elderly residents of Woodvale's Sandbrook Way. Thankfully, the public do remember these things at election time.
True Community commitment or typical Tory spin?
Tory candidate, Jamie Halsall (right), had campaigned on the noble promise to help and be there for local residents in need. Not once however had he bothered to contact any of the beleaguered and 'banned' WWP team who were possibly the most victimised members of his chosen community in Ainsdale ward.
Thanks for nothing Dr Halsall!
People who sit on fences should NOT seek to represent a community!
Cllr Ted Hartill had used the community- based WWP to promote his private political agenda. This was proven in several posts herein. Again, the public do recall these things when it matters most.
Local communities need real dedicated representatives who work effectively for them, not self-seeking political engineers that do not. Nothing else will suffice!
Like Cllr Preece, we shall continue to do what we can for the community!
Someone has to!
