Freedom of opinion is now further under threat, it seems, as Merseyrail suddenly censors democratic liberties on their network.
Posters promoting Morrissey's latest album have been removed from railway stations after an alleged commuter complained. Adverts for the new album by the former Smiths singer have been torn down on the Merseyrail network. Morrissey has previously articulated support for the greatly-disparaged Independent MEP candidate, Tommy Robinson.
Mr Robinson has nevertheless regularly confronted noisy left-wing agitators along the way.
Morrissey has also thrown his support behind the For Britain movement.

Today, we are seeing an increased interference by the press and social media with British politics and the demonisation and ultimate silencing of any dissenting political voices that fail to conform to orthodox ideas of political correctness.
"With voice extended to breaking point, I call for the prosperity of free speech," said Morrissey on Friday.
The man, who asked not to be named, told the BBC he was not "offended" by the posters and did not demand they were taken down, he said he just questioned the company on whether they were appropriate.

However, other news reports say he was offended by posters.
The adverts, which contain no political message whatsoever, were oddly banned after the alleged traveller on a Southport service to Moorfields contacted the company to complain.
The singer is also passionate about animal welfare. Morrissey is known to oppose Halal slaughter, which is used by followers of Islam. This involves slitting an animal’s throat and allowing it to bleed to death.
However, the RSPCA has also criticised this questionable religious slaughter method as being cruel.
The charity says: ‘We're opposed to the slaughter of any animal without first ensuring it is rendered insensible to pain and distress. We, therefore, believe that all animals should be stunned prior to slaughter. The evidence clearly indicates that slaughter without pre-stunning can cause unnecessary suffering.’

How far does this stifling political-correctness and censorship go? If Merseyrail is censoring Morrissey due to a belief that he’s a ‘racist’ then are they also alleging the same about the RSPCA?
Other sources are asking if there was ever really a complaint lodged from a passenger or is this left-wing propaganda in action ‘behind’ the scenes.
Is Merseyrail just playing it safe with the Morrissey poster ban, or have they become the latest facet of creeping Nanny State censorship strategy to kill off free speech in the UK?
