Respect is dead as Ainsdale gets chopped off the Southport electoral map
Ainsdale's heritage is long with links back to the Vikings and beyond.
However, Ainsdale folks do not seem to matter to the faceless politicians who want our votes in the forthcoming election. If you have received political leaflets advising about who is standing as a candidate for election, then good for you.
One can only speak as one finds and we really have NO idea who wants to be our MP in this SOUTHPORT area.
We have had a couple of Labour sheets ages ago sporting the Union Flag and promoting their Sefton Central guy who wants control over this part of Southport, yet who exactly are the rest?
This voting lark really seems like a total waste of time to us, with this current political apathy.
I mean to say – any persons living here in Ainsdale who cares passionately about Southport and wants to fight for it will in affect by wasting their time. They will soon be informed that they have NO right to shout out for their town, because their new MP is a Sefton Central (wherever the hell that is supposed to be?) person as NOT a Southport rep.
Ainsdale: the creeping elimination of municipal autonomy
They ripped us away from Lancashire. They dragged us away from Southport. They stole our kids A & E and maternity hospital services.
What next, will Ainsdale just be designated as a soulless number on a council map without even a name or maybe just swallowed up as yet another minor suburb of Liverpool?
Ye gods, save us all from the machinations of smug area decision makers in grey suits set in their ivory towers! All this and the well-trained public stays silent as always, complying without question to the diktat of their masters, while their community identity is being trashed.
