Southport Air Show 2014
The weather was not brilliant and I was testing out a new camera, but at least I managed to grab a few shots...
One Lancaster is good but two is a mega bonus
The Vulcan - always popular
And the brilliant Red Arrows of course.
First day saw grey skies but the sun came out on the second day.
Canberra with a Hunter
'Not' a quiet aircraft, the Typhoon's roar set a few dogs barking
The P-51 Mustang operated by Peter Teichman of Hanger 11 Collection (I 'think' this is the man himself) and a selected few of the finest and most experienced display pilots in the UK.
"Jumpin Jacques" (seen here at RAF Woodvale) is a P-51D-20-NA model, built at North American’s Inglewood facility in California. Accepted by the USAAF on December 21 1944 as 44-72035 she was originally earmarked for service with the Eighth Air Force in England but this was quickly changed to Project Number 91037R, indicating service in the Mediterranean Theatre of Operations.
Here's a brief video clip of the Mustang at RAF Woodvale
Maximum zoom shot at 30 x hand held
Choppers over Southport pier
We also had Spitfires and Hurricanes, doing their thing over the sands
