Friends of Kitty's Wood: Call out for help, after threat to smash nests

Our protest team were involved in a nasty incident this afternoon.

An abusive female driver threatened to smash/steal legally-protected nests and eggs in the George Drive woodlands.  Police were alerted to this appalling threat and we believe they are visiting the person in question.

Meeting tonight (27 April 2017) at St John's Church Hall, Liverpool Road, Ainsdale at 7.30pm for residents and supporters. Please do come along and show your support for saving the woods at George Drive.

Campaigners are guarding the woods 24 hours a day, against such bizarre solitary threats and against the more serious 'promise' by One Vision Housing (OVH), backed by Sefton Council,  to destroy the entire woodlands.

Police have advised protesters to ring 999, if they spot OVH trying to sneak into Kitty's Wood to fence it off or fell wildlife habitat.

The area is full of nesting birds with chicks and eggs. We continue to protect it but your help would be appreciated too.

Bat boxes were erected some years ago and it is illegal to disturb this legally-protected species.

Sefton Council planning department continue to virtually make it up and they go along. Their so-called 'surveys' are inaccurate and inconsistent and their bogus decision to destroy this lovely old woodland  was 100%  unsound.

We call for a vote of no confidence in OVH, the Council and their spurious decision to axe Kitty's Wood.

All we have received so far from these odious authorities have been 'smoke and mirror' tactics.

Politicians have played mind games with the lives of residents and legally - protected wildlife. Save our ancient woodlands today!

People Power can win!
